Don’t believe me about Medieval Times? Does it sound like I’m just making it up? Here is photographic proof that this Very American Place of entertainment limbo exists:
When you enter, they give you paper crowns corresponding to the color of the section you’re seated in which is also the knight you’re supposed to cheer for. We were in the green section and we were definitely the loudest. I felt a little bad cause there were kids near us and we got a bit rowdy… Whoops…
Yeah, the knights actually fought. It was pretty lit. Our Green Knight actually won the tournament but then turned out to be the bad guy when he spouted some misogynistic comments at the queen. We still cheered for him though, our problematic fave. He was eventually defeated by the good guy of course.
Afterwards the knights joined everybody in the hall and we got to take photos with them. Turns out the green knight was just a shy lil guy in real life, nothing like his alter ego in the arena. The illusion was shattered.
Afterwards in the bathroom I heard a little girl going “I had fun, I wanna go again.” Same girl, same.
I actually went to Medieval Times the first time I visited the US when I was around 10. I think we visited for a week or two and I remember absolutely nothing else from that trip except for Medieval Times. A big thank you to Adam for letting me relive my childhood dreams under the guise of his birthday. He did have a good time though, he nearly lost his voice from cheering/yelling/hollering so much.
In other Lian news, I’m heading to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania to attend the Harrisburg Book Festival. If you’re in the area, pop on by on Saturday October 21st between 10am to 12pm to meet me and get a book signed! Here’s the info below:
Hope everyone is doing well!
Until next time friends.
It does kinda look like a Costco. 😂😂
So glad that you both had a great time and your childhood dream comes true!
