As if keeping up with one newsletter wasn’t enough, I am starting a new section on this Substack titled…
As the title suggests, only Cool Kids (people who will pay me) will have access to the posts on this section. EDIT: Some posts may be public for books that are currently out!
I’m going to be sharing more frequent updates on things I’m working on, which is super duper exciting since I usually have to just hold onto these things for years. Usually by the time the book comes out, I’ve already forgotten everything I did and I don’t end up sharing it anyways. This newsletter/blog will be a way for me to memorialize all the work that goes into these damn books.
I also plan on sharing more educational posts such as recordings of guest lectures I give, or process walkthroughs. This section will focus more on my day to day work and provide insight into working on picture books whereas the free section is more my random life stories and updates for fun.
There are different payment options, either monthly ($6), yearly ($50, save 31%), or a “Ultimate Cool Kid” ($50+) tier which gives you the same access but just shows your extra support for my work (and cements me as your sugar baby).
As a paid subscriber, you’ll get real time updates of books I’m working on. I’ll have posts explaining behind the scenes looks and reasonings/research behind artistic decisions. The plan is that after these books do come out, I can republish (after some editing) these posts for the general public. But for now, you’ll get a secret look at projects that won’t be released for years. How juicy!!
As of now, all current subscribers will be subscribed to this newsletter however I won’t flood your inbox. If you pay, you will receive e-mail updates on paid posts, if not then you’ll just continue to get the free posts.
