Every couple of weeks I suddenly remember that I have a planner that I’m supposed to use. I was so excited to start the planner when it got it in September 2021, and now I’ve completely fallen off. To be fair, I have been sick for the past week and just remembered that I have it.
In case you’re wondering, Adam is feeling better, he’s been doing a lot of random dancing whenever any type of music comes on so I’m taking that as a sign that he’s on the mend. I’m feeling okay, I’ve been getting extremely fatigued from small things and keep on coughing but generally I think I’m okay! Hopefully another week of rest will do us good and we’ll be as good as new.
Update: Just tested positive!! I wasn’t gaslighting myself!! I have covid!
Anyways, onto the good stuff! This is my planner set up:
Planner: Hobonichi Techo A5
Markers: ZIG Clean Color Dot markers
Pen: Platinum Carbon Fountain Pen (wtf I got this for $20 idk why it’s showing as $70 now)
Ink: Noodler’s ink
Here are some highlights from Dec 2021 to April 2022
December highlights:
I turned 26
Adam took me on a birthday trip to Upstate NY
I got a septum piercing
My piercer had Covid
Luckily I didn’t get it! (that time around)
And here’s 2022:
I love these frogs I did and you can tell I was SUPER excited to start the planner I had been waiting months to start… The excitement wears off around March as you’ll soon see…
I made an anniversary flan that took me 3 tried to get the caramel JUST the right amount of caramelized and not burnt. Then Adam got really really sick of me complaining about seeing Spiderman spoilers and surprised me with tickets to watch it in a cute drive in theater in Williamsburg.
Both me and Adam were definitely feeling the pandemic dread badly during the winter months.
Luckily, I started a little online hangout with friends where we just zoom and hang out to mitigate the loneliness and coldness.
Then I got the deadly duo (UTI + period) a day before Valentine’s Day! Woohoo!!
Since I was doubled over in pain, we spent Valentine’s Day just cuddling. We did get each other presents though and ended up celebrating a week later when we went to the Met, then froze our asses off in Chinatown at night!
Then… Adam got into a bad bike crash. Luckily, he’s okay! He did get out of it very banged up but luckily it was a malfunction on his bike and he wasn’t hit by a car. It did graze up his fresh new tattoo which he was really upset about.
Now he’s got some poor scars on his beautiful face and I secretly apply scar cream on him while he sleeps (don’t tell him).
Some drawings while I figure out what animal characters I should draw my pals as…
AMAZING things happened for my ever so talented friend Jess which is not my news to share so you will simply have to wait to hear about it from her yourself! But know that it is SO exciting and everyone should go follow her work immediately.
And lastly, the last nice page I drew before I got sick with Covid.
More soon! Hopefully I’ll get in the habit of filling out my planner/diary more after my SF trip in June.
These are so fun to look back on! I love that you've compiled them digitally—I rarely look back on past journals/diaries but it's always so nice, so organizing it like this makes it easy to review. Also that washi tape with the woodland animals is so precious!
What fun drawings and visuals! The patience and time to draw everything--it seems very therapeutic. Nicely done! Hopefully you get to fill out your planner/ diary more.
