My Green Card Journey
After two long years in this cursed immigration system...
That’s right folks! After two years of waiting, I’m finally approved for a green card! I know I’ve voiced my issues with this country on this newsletter before in the past and I’m not planning on staying here long term, but at least for now I can stay here until I get my long term plan in order. This also means I can finally travel overseas without US border patrol making me cry each time I try to come back!! Which means I get to FINALLY go back to Taiwan and eat all the good food, ride my scooter, buy all the stationery and see my family after nearly 3 long years.
I’m very very excited, so much so that I am planning on hosting a small party this week to celebrate. Here is the invitation I illustrated for the party (address redacted of course):
It was also a very exciting week because we redid our entire apartment after finding a free green couch in New York fashion. One could say this couch was auspicious as we found it before we received the interview notice. But more on the apartment and our New York stooping adventures another time, for now I’m going to celebrate!
Lian, this is so cute and beautiful! Congrats :)
nervous poops - highly relatable! epic party invite! congrats on an excruciating ordeal being over <3
