I cannot believe most people make hot chocolate with water. This may actually be beyond America, but either way, the amount of times I have ordered a hot chocolate and it’s just a goopy translucent mess is disappointing. No wonder people go to places like Max Brenner or Europe, order a hot chocolate and say it’s the “BEST HOT CHOCOLATE EVERRR.”It’s cause it’s made with milk and cream and not water!! Stop depriving yourself of life’s pleasures and make hot chocolate with milk instead.
This bothers me so much. I’ve been to way too many homes where nobody has an electric kettle. I grew up in Taiwan and New Zealand and an electric kettle has always been a STAPLE in our house. I’ve had people heat up their water in the microwave for tea (please no just kill me now) or straight up in a pot on the stove where they’ve forgotten about it and it’s completely evaporated. Last year, I gave an electric kettle to Adam’s family and their lives were changed forever. So if you haven’t got one already, just please do yourself a favor and get one, you won’t regret it.
Okay this one really really pissed me off! One day I was really craving a McDonalds apple pie so I went to buy one. Imagine my surprise (disappointment) when I opened it and it' was a little soggy, saggy, yucky BAKED apple pie? I’ve never in my life had an apple pie from McDonalds that wasn’t fried. The fried apple pies are infinitely superior and I can’t believe out of all the things America chooses to deep fry (butter, oreos, pickles, etc), the apple pie at McDonalds is where they draw the line? Ridiculous.
Apparently all apple pies used to be fried, but in 1992 they decided to make it “healthier” and switched them to baked pies instead. It’s honestly kind of ridiculous because it’s not like McDonalds is a healthy restaurant no matter how much they tried to market it as such. If we’re all going to go out from heart disease regardless, it may as well be with a delicious fried apple pie. Apparently these aren’t available in the US anymore, but a handful of countries still serve fried apple pies and it just so happens that both countries I’ve lived in growing up were ones that sold them. According to Google, if you ever find yourself in Taiwan, New Zealand, Australia, Hong Kong, UK, Mexico, Sweden or Italy be sure to try out a fried apple pie if you’ve never had it before.
Haha, these are so true. Milk based hot chocolate is THE ONLY way. Confession: I’m a water microwaver...but I’m open to changing my ways. Any kettle recs? 😂
lolol - these are all spot on. My poor daughter had 'hot cocoa' at her friend's house when she was like 8. She came back totally disgusted because the mom made it with water.
