A short little comic today while I slowly get back into the swing of things. If you didn’t know already, my editor Mabel has left Harper and gone off to start her own imprint at Sourcebooks! I’m so happy for her!!
Anyways, the past months have been a slow readjustment waiting for my new editor to get acquainted with my work and current books but it seems we’re finally about to get the ball rolling so I thought I would try out a little comic to get back to using my hand again.
And I know, you’re probably shouting, “LIAN, YOUR HAND!” Yes, yes, I am okay! I went to see my hand doctor and he recommended I wear a brace for a while so that my ligaments can heal. I’m currently typing this with a brace and I drew that comic with a brace and it’s been good! I apparently just stressed out the ligaments covering two of my little hand bones and that’s what’s been giving me trouble. He said I just need to brace it and let the ligaments heal up.
In other news, with the new apartment, came a much bigger room I’m using as my studio. As a result, I bought myself a massive (74in!!!) standing desk! It’s HUGE!
This desk is my current new obsession. My old desk was far too small and too short so it absolutely fucked my posture. But NOT ANYMORE! Now I can adjust my desk to whatever height I want and I’ve found the pain goes away when I draw standing up. Huzzah for the desk!
Okay fellas, that’s all for today.
I hope spring finally arrives, we’ve been jumping between cold-chill-your-bones weather and sunny-tits-out-weather.
Have a great week!
I wish I had the self-restraint to slow-eat fancy snacks! Maybe it depends on how fancy. A Swiss friend gave me a chocolate dog once and it was too cute to eat...almost. I held off for over a year but eventually caved.
Thank you!
