Today marks the 54th anniversary of the Kent State Massacre where the National Guard killed four students for protesting the Vietnam War. As of today, 2,300 people have been arrested on campuses around the country for standing with Palestine so far.
Here are some things students have historically led protest about despite being vilified by the press and public:
1960: The Civil Rights movement
1970: Against the Vietnam War
1985: Against South Africa’s Apartheid
Oh, how wrong those students were back then, right?
How wrong they must be now… right?
Right?
this made me cry. so beautifully written and so painfully true.
100% agree. the only thing america exports is the war machine or crap that's bad for society to consume
