The Thrill of a New Sketchbook
Some sketchbook pages, development for my next book, and health update!
I can’t believe we’re near the end of the year?? Kind of rude how this year just passed by so quickly.
I should probably make a post reflecting on this year and blah blah blah but instead I’m here to share that I have once again bought myself ANOTHER sketchbook. I swear this time, I’ve cracked it and I have the perfect set up which I will never change for the rest of my life (probably not).
This year has been a slow year sketchbook wise. I’ve been feeling a bit creatively stunted and haven’t been finding myself interested in doing any fun drawings during my time off. Turns out all I needed was a new sketchbook I was excited about to kick my ass into gear.
A while ago, I posted about my passport (small) sized Traveler’s Notebook which I got for Christmas in 2022. However, the small notebook was feeling a bit too cramped and my hand would hurt to draw in it.
Anyways, I’m here to report that in a moment of consumerism, I decided to bite the bullet and get the larger version of the Traveler’s Notebook!
Here they are side by side for size comparison:
Shall we take a little look inside?
I do have a very important question I must know the answer to…
Recently, I went with Laura and Vikki, to a jazz bar called Lunatico in Brooklyn and I had so much fun drawing the musicians.
Also wanted to update y’all and let you know that I’ve been feeling a lot better! Still not at 100% but definitely better than before. Thank you guys for all your well wishes <3
The doctors are chalking it up to a mystery infection I must have gotten which caused my body to go into hyperdrive (reactive arthritis). They say as long as it doesn’t come back, I should most likely be okay? Who knows! But it does feel nice to start to have more energy again.
In terms of work, I’ve been in a limbo state of waiting for notes and feedback before I wrap up my next book Don’t Eat Eustace. As I’ve been feeling better, I’ve also been feeling antsy so I decided to dive into working on some development for my 4th book, The Pizza Brothers.
As always, paid subscribers get a special peek at some development work!
